Placements and Displacements

This body of work examines humankind’s persistent displacement of the natural world, focusing on the tensions between land, industry, and ownership. Through sculpture and mixed media, I draw on imagery from maps and topography, using these visual languages to explore how landscapes are fragmented, reshaped, and redefined. By layering natural materials with industrial elements, the work reflects the dynamic interplay between organic systems and human intervention. The resulting pieces function as artifacts of both physical and conceptual impact, prompting reflection on the consequences of our ongoing transformation of the earth and the spaces we inhabit.
