From Memory
Some paths are laid before us, mapped generations ago and passed down like an inheritance—or a curse. We navigate them instinctively, guided by memories that are not our own. Other destinations, we choose for ourselves, often with no clear way forward. Whether driven by destiny or blind ambition, we follow the beacons of hope and desire, seeking arrival, seeking fulfillment.
This body of work reflects my own hunger for destination—for the moment of arrival—and the obstacles that stand in the way. It speaks to the search for purpose, the pursuit of status, and the pressure to conform to narrow, predetermined routes. Many feel the burden of needing to arrive while being utterly lost. Too often, we plant our flags in places never meant for us, constructing lives around ideals that may not be our own. We defend these self-made destinies, sometimes at great cost. This exhibition invites reflection on the paths we follow, the choices we make, and the true nature of arrival.
